Rather than going to 22" on the RK, I thought maybe the 19.5" with the recurve would move the air up tad more than a flatty and I could still see over it.

Have the 17" Clearview recurve on my RK and love it. The recurve does give you the 2" - 3" you are looking for. If you are careful in your trial mount (see instructions included with it) they will gladly swap you for a different size. Great folks - great product.
