Hah!... In a weak moment, ages ago, I test drove one of them. It was brand new and the rear diff whined like crazy. Clearly it was setup wrong or lacking gear lube. I commented to the sales guy on the ride-along that the rear end needed to be fixed. He immediately responded that, no, they all do that. We were just arriving at a stop sign and i stopped the car, looked him in the eye and paused for effect... and said "well then, they ALL need to be fixed".

What a sad little machine was the diesel Chevette.
