But... Upon reading the description better saw that it would not work with the HD radio's BT. What a crock! I came to same conclusion that it was just a HD branded BT headset, probably a generation or two back of what the maker is currently selling under their own brand name. I guess I'll just get the wrap around half helmet one that plugs into the system. Sent from mobile device prone to spelling errors

While talking about Bluetooth thingies...
I've been using the SM10 for three years and it was very functional for the (non-Boom!) ultra. The SM10 had only a single issue, involving the charging scheme and I had to just deal with it. My SM 10 has now died and I need to replace but the new Freewire *appears* to present an upgrade path and no power issue. It also costs twice as much! I haven't purchased yet, hoping for feedback on the Freewire.
Edit to add: the SM10 lets you hear all of the bike's radios (including CB) plus has an input to tie in another audio such as gps or radar so you can get all of the music and alerts via Bluetooth. It's also in full stereophonic hi-fidelity! What the SM10 won't do: 1.) Output back to the bike, so, no CB mic function or two way radio. 2.) pair up with more than one headset. If you want your passenger to share the BT you'll have to install TWO SM10s. Their SR10 offers two-way but no stereo. I don't yet know what the Freewire adds to this mix.

While talking about Bluetooth thingies...
Also, HD is now selling several rebranded SENA headsets;
All under the Boom! name, none of which have anything to do with the Boom! radio. I did notice that on Sena's site, the Harley and H0NDA brands are mentioned quite freely and the Freewire is touted as offering HD and H0NDA specific builds. I guess the new licensing arrangement is paying off. I'm going to try to take this as a positive step toward eventual Bluetooth product integration. I remain dumbfounded that it wasn't done in '14.

The Boom! system lacks a ADP2 profile for a wireless headset. Any work-around is going to be a kludge.

What about a different Bluetooth transmitter plugged into the output jack? You wouldn't get the rest of the stuff, but you'd have music and probably also linked to your phone.

You can do this (have been for a long time) using a BT transmitter such as the SM10. You can get all the bikes outputs to your headset, but only to *one* headset. You'd need another SM10 for the passenger but that will work; no CB talk function tho. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Based on your help back in 14 I got the SMH10 (bt headsets for Jan and I) Then I wanted to connect the boom to get radio, cb, nav and all So I bought the SM10 - it allows me to pair to my helmet and to Jan's helmet at the same time to the SM10 I bought the 14pin din to 3.5mm plug to hook it into the dash plug on the bike where the HD headset plugs into. I get all the BOOM functions transmitted into both helmets .... You're right, there is no way (mic) for communication back into the boom for things like CB or using your phone IF you have paired your phone with the bike (which I don't) But I do have my phone paired with the SMH10 https://www.sena.com/product/sm10/ I wonder what went wrong with your SM10 ..... I recall your charging issue with the SM10, and where you had it mounted, but I seem to recall that you came up with a work-around too last time I had mine hooked up it was still working .... hope it still is as I leave on 3/9 for Daytona Bike Week

I THINK it was a 14 pin din ... I forget for sure, but that's how I got it hooked to the dash connector on the bike .... I also forget where I bought it, Sena? idk

OK, here it is
https://www.sena.com/product/3-5mm-s...ultra-classic/ Mount the SM10 on the handlebar (or wherever) then plug this into the dash and the SM10, pair with your bt headset, bingo bango bongo then go to the boom SETUP, COM, route your NAV and stuff to HEADSET ... it will got the dash connector to the SM10 then bt to your headset .... weeeeeeeeeeeeeee
