Screamin' eagle mufflers
I bought a used set of slash cut screamin' eagle mufflers this morning. They needed a good cleaning, but I got 'em for fifty bucks, so I figured what the hell. As I was cleaning them up, I notice a warning stamped into them saying the are for closed course competition only, and not for street use. I put 'em on anyway, and tried them out. Very nice rumble as you cruise, and frikkin' loud when you get on the throttle! I'm gonna try them for a few days..... don't know if I like it quite that loud, but we'll see. I guess the question I have is: Will running these mufflers do any damage to a stock 96" TC? Will it need to be re-tuned?

The stamping is a CYA, might need a stage one flash, maybe not?
Smarter ones will be along shortly. (define shortly...)

Probably not if you didn't change anything on the intake side.

If your completely stock, no tuber or flash, you might start to see the chrome turn slightly gold around the front of the pupe from a lean condition after time.

They were on my 2003 when I got her. I did the stage one at 30k. Not sure how long they were on before that. I'm at 9k on these pipes and all good so far. (knock wood)

You need more air in for more air out. Shouldn't run lean if no change on the intake side.

I know that one fits perfect as a muffler for my Metro.

There will be no damage, but.....
You will see more gains and have the bike run better with a tune.
