Pull the motor, send the bottom end to Hoban/Darkhorse and have the crank fixed and balanced and welded. Now your bottom end is bullet proof. You can put the rest of your stock parts back or spend another 1k or so and put a set of SE 103 pistons in it, have the heads cleaned up and drop in a set of SE 255 cams. It'll run hard for a long time.

Grooves on oil pump rotor, grooves on back of cam plate. Tried to take pics of it, you can't see the detail with my little snapshot camera unless you look at the full sized pics.

Hard to tell from the pics, but they don't look all that bad. What do the guts of the pump look like--especially the scavenge side?

There are really 2 pumps in one housing--2 sets of gerotors separated by a solid plate. One feeds the motor and one scavenges oil out of the case and sends it back to the tank. If your scavenge side is scored badly, it might explain the oil issue.
