I'll let it stabilize before I put anything in it. Shouldn't be long. The hygrometer on the unit matches my recently calibrated Xikar digital one I placed in the opposite corner, and it was at 75% when I took the 84% packs out before I put the Oasis in.
If I could do it over again I would just use the Oasis to keep it at 70% for a week or two to season it. I think that would work better. When I get it stable at 70 I may adjust downwards. Sent from my Star Trek communicator

It's been at 69% for a couple days now. I put 23 cigars in it last night. Can finally get rid of the freezer bag-a-dor.
Unless I open the lid the Oasis thing hardly runs at all. So far, so good! I don't think it's going to hold anywhere near 300. Sent from my Star Trek communicator

Yeah, the capacity on all of them seems to be very optimistic. Unless you're talking Coronas.

So far so good. I have 69% in the bottom, and 67% in the top tray, which I thought was a little weird.
I think I want to do something to improve the airflow. The Cigar Oasis sucks from the top and blows out the side. If I fill the humidor up then it may not circulate the air as well. If it starts sucking in the same air it blows out, then the sticks in the far corner may dry out. I have to give this some thought. I may try turning out on the side, so it sucks from the bottom and blows the humid air upward. Sent from my Star Trek communicator

bumping this back up to see how its worked out, I am tired of playing with 2 humi's and I want to get 1 bigger one, this winter was a nightmare keeping humidity between being sick and the cigars drying out.

I use a Cigar Oasis humidifier, and it just flat works beautiful! Wherever you set the humidity, that's where it stays. If the water level gets low, the alarm goes off to remind you to fill it with water again. I'd never go back to any other way of humidification.

If it's plastic and foam, I bet he's got some cedar spills from his local cigar shop in it.
Sent from my li'l ol' iPhone 4S augmented w/ a mophie juice pack plus® using Tapatalk. Probably from the crapper.

So I decided to combine my two Humis into one big one and go with the Cigar Oasis XL to keep the humidity consistent. I went with the Ravello 300 stick box. It's been up and running now for 3 weeks, so stuff is pretty stable. I recalibrated one of my digital hygrometers and stuck that on the upper level of the humi on the opposite side from the XL. I'm seeing about a 1.5% RH difference between them, with the hygrometer consistently reading lower.
The real test will be over the winter when the RH in the house sits in the high 20s-low 30s for months at a time, but for now I'm very happy with the setup.
