Silly keurig

You must descale now!

So I did with 80 / 20, vinegar / water.

Took out filter while doing.

Ran two full containers of water through after until I didn't smell vinegar any longer.

Replaced the carbon filter.

Oh no! First two cups were sour this AM.

Ran another one and a half reservoirs of water, finally a cupa coffee...

Have yet to "descale" any of the coffeemakers we've had, according to instructions, without having to do at least two more flush cycles to get rid of the vinegar taste.

You say "sour", I say YUK!

We have two keurigs. The first one we bought at Costco for the house and it runs any pod you throw at it. We do have to descale it a couple of times a year but we have hard water so not surprised. Second one we bought at Fred Meyers for the motorhome. What a POS, you must use keurig "approved" pods or it throws a tantrum and refuses to work. It is on it's way to Goodwill and a second one from Costco is being purchased this month. The new one will likely be the house model with the older one relegated to motorhome use.

I haven't ever descaled and my Keurig is several years old. I guess I'm doing it wrong.

My water is soft enough that I haven't had to either.

I run straight vinegar through it once a year or so..

Found out hot vinegar stinks up the house for a day or so
