Exhaust recommendations for 2014 Ultra Limited
I'm getting around to putting some pipes on my bike (2014 Ultra Limited) in the next couple of weeks and I'm still trying to decided on which ones I like the most. I had the Vance & Hines Wide Ovals on my '08 Ultra and really enjoyed them but am thinking about going with Rinehart's (4" Slip-Ons) this go around. The parts guy at Strokers yesterday recommended LA Choppers pipes, he said they were the same as Rinehart for about 30% less on the price.
Here's their quote- Headers - $549 Mufflers w/black tips - $405 S&S Air Cleaner - $117 Power Commander V - $342 Total after promo/taxes - $1,539 4 hours labor to install $396 Installed out the door - $1,935 Thoughts? |

What kind of headers? Fullback or Fuel Moto would be my first choice. I don't know anything about LA Choppers mufflers . I have the Harley Street cannon on mine and am extremely happy with them. The Supertrapp Fat Shots are also a good choice and are much quieter. 4 hours labor seems a little long for a pro to do it, but probably still in the window of reasonable. It would take me longer to do it. I can't believe they didn't mention a tune or tuner. Changing both intake and exhaust will need something or it's going to melt down. I'm a big fan of the Powervision, and you can tune it yourself. Buy it from Fuel Moto and he'll send you a really good starter map. Just my .02 On edit: I just noticed the Powercomander. For the money I soul go with the Powervision. It's a flash tuner and provides a lot more flexibility. As I said above Jamie can give you a starter map that is really good. You can tune it yourself and then you have another gadget to look at while you're riding.

I went with fullsac headers and the four inch rineharts. That was Smart Dave's recommendation and I love em. Perfect low exhaust note and nicely quiet at cruise.

Consider the PV over the PCV.

Billy;
I would go with the TTS or the Power Vision. Since your moving near Dallas anyway, why not give Steve at GMR a call. He will probably tell you V&H power dual headers and crusher mellow mufflers.. Just be careful though, or you might leave with new cams too...

Fuelmoto ceramic headpipe and a PV. Any air cleaner will do. Pick a muffler you like to look at and that sounds good. I really like the Street Cannons on Danny's bike.

Mission creep setting in yet??
Fullsac header, his baffles with the CVO cans, TTS..... Was a nice combo, then creep started, 54's and a tune from the best in BC - not the dealership, they actually gave me my money back for the dyno time when they seen the Lonewolf tune and my parts counter bud rode Dogfish... Dirk |
