How did the 7-30 Waters not go Mainstream?
Especially for the dog deer down here in Southern Texas? I stumbled into this BNIB 1990 94AE a few months ago. I have to say, it pained me to touch off the first shot but the sights on this unit are way better for me than the new Mirkou production units and the 7-30 is so very dang accurate, my current favourite walking around rifle....

Wow, nice find, have never noticed that cartridge on the shelves before.
Looked it up and sure looks like it has some great advantages over the 30-30 and 35 Rem. Was in my LGS last month and saw two young fellers looking sad in the mostly empty ammo aisle, but the store did have some boxes of Carcano and Arisaka along with 30 Carbine. The more popular flavors were not on the shelves.

Very nice Brush Gun. 30.30 has killed more Hogs&Deer in Texas.

7-30 Waters caliber.
Parent case is a 30-30 necked down to a 7 MM. Along the lines of a 25-06 thingy.
