Ask The Techs... This is the way it works. Post up your question in the appropriate Forum, then put a link to it here. We'll ask some very savvy folks to monitor the posts here and answer your question. If you are a Tech answering a question, please do it in the linked thread rather than here. In this way, we can build info in the appropriate Forum. Thanks. |

So basically it doesn't matter if the wrist is out of action for a short while?

Well, it's the other wrist.
Which is good -- I only visit. |

Seriously? Seriously?!?
The man rented a damn billboard, virtually speaking. Heck, his LinkedIn profile even states: "Don Durham has a new connection".

I don't get it either Boss. I've always gotten more respect than I personally think I deserve... Then again, I know me better than most. Oh yeah -- another serious question about the bike if anyone's still listening. If it languishes here, I'll start another thread... Since tipping over yesterday, the engine light comes on and goes off as normal when the run switch goes on. THEN, it comes on again as I'm cranking the bike and goes off again (and stays off) after the first couple of revs. Has done that each of the 3-4 times I've cranked it since yesterday. Does that mean it has a code it wants to give me. Searched yesterday for the code retrieval steps and didn't find them. Was standing in wet clothes and wanted to get out of them -- just haven't gotten back to the bike today... |

Yeah...
That one's right up there with, "all bikers are tough badasses." But, meh, I appreciate the gesture! |

Pull the code/s and then try to reset them right away (clear them). Quite often the bike will set codes for some surprising things when it tips or misfires for some reason that will clear right out and be gone. Any other codes that stay, look up or come here.

No. I go full nekkid. baptists don't usually wear those collar thingies -- but, if I had one, I could see leaving it on sometimes... Quote:
However, the check engine light still comes on a second time as I'm cranking, stays on a few seconds until I rev it a couple of times, then goes off and stays off until I crank it again. I tried the clearing steps I found at another HD forum and it's still cycling the light. Spoke to Highmiles and he suggested it was probably just the record of the tip over sensor tripping and would need to be fully cleared by a dealer. |
