I sure had a hella time on my EGS, and am inspired to get another one. Lighter and less to go wrong with them. Two stators, two regs, three trips through the cam chest, brake pads and rubber

If M 8 engine, most likely is an oil cooled head(s) setup.


How many of us here had had stator failures on the three phase stator generating system that was installed in '06 ( or was it '05 and up?)?


My '06 had 110 K on it and I was always waiting for the day of generator (stator) failure, but it was a three phase generating system.

My 05 Ultra was on it's 4th stater in 129k miles when I bought the CVO.

Original stator went out on the 02. OEM replacement went out about a week short of the P&A 1 year warranty. I did a little digging around on the net and then installed Cycle Electric stator and regulator. The OEM regulator setup on the 02 sends current to ground when not needed by the battery. CE claims that’s why they burn up stators. Both of mine were burning coils at the leads coming off the stator.
