Yep, first non mothership part that is installed will be the cause of any problem they can't figure out.

I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and pull my header and replace the port seals myself.

Because not one single dealer can hear or smell the upstream exhaust gas leak.

Another trip down the rabbit hole.

Have you run across any pontoons for the bikes?

You could contact Smart Dave, he might have some info. I know his preference is the TTS Mastertune. It's what he put on my '06 when he did the build. The TTS was designed by the same engineer who designed the original Screaming Eagle Tuner.

I wish I was closer to Smart Dave.

Installed the stage one. Before picture of the stock air cleaner, and then the Screaming Eagle high flow. It uses the stock chrome part of the original, but eliminates the big sealed air box. I don't think the air box is all that restrictive, but the stock element is tiny compare to the SE element, which completely fills the chrome cover.

Stock muffler on left, new SE Street Canon muffler on the right. Way bigger and straight through design.

I will say that after installation, they were much quieter than I expected. I was concerned they were too quiet. Yes, I still have the cat (for now), but still I was worried. After about 100 miles they seemed to open up a little, and I am now very pleased with them.

I wish we lived close enough, because I damned sure have the stuff to locate that leak precisely.

Good luck w the dealer.

I just need a couple more hands to hold large sockets on the end of long extensions, in the muffler outlets to induce highway speed back pressure, while I raise the idle speed and listen to the head ports and the upstream of the catalyst exhaust pipes. With my stethoscope hose.

At highway speeds I can hear the "flutter" of an exhaust leak and can smell un controlled up stream exhaust gas.

I was the "Lucky Pierre" at the dealership, NVH guy, Noise, Vibration and Harshness, got get those kinds of warranty jobs, so I do have an idea that is happening.

Anyone ever hear of "Boxcar bearings"? Fun stuff...

It's just most dealership guys have no patience for these kind of jobs, because it doesn't pay well.

I flashed the ECM with the Harley Pro Street Tuner. Tuner and software was like a flash from the past. Felt just like the TTS I had 7 years ago. I didn't do any DIY tuning yet, just flashed the stage 1 map. It runs pretty good, absolutely NO popping on decel. I'll play with it a bit I'm sure. It's not bad, but it could be better.

One thing I noticed is that there are limitations on how much you can change the map values. For example, you can only add or retard spark no more than 4 degrees. Afr is limited to about 10 percent adjustment. You can type in any number you want, but it will change it back to the max value allowed once you exit the cell. This is because of the settlement the Moco made with the EPA. Like I said, it's not bad, so I'll play by the rules until I'm ready to throw the warranty away
