Master Cylinder Question

With the brake line and banjo bolt removed, should anything come out of the master cylinder when I squeeze the brake handle? Nothing did but it does have fluid in it. A little trickled out when I took off the line.

I would think as you squeeze the handle, pressure should force some out the line. Unless you've sucked air into the line and possible have an air bubble.

The line has been removed completely, this is right at the master cylinder.

There's a question I wish I knew the answer to. Suffice to say I haven't done it in the 4 years I've had the bike.

If it's DOT 3 or 4, you should change every 2 years. And don't get it on your paint!!!!!

Water will sink to the bottom with DOT 5, too, as it does not mix.

If the master cylinder was full of fluid, some shoud be forced out. If the master cylinder was "empty", there would just be a little in the channel.

Were the brakes working before you disconnected the line? Why are you even doing this?
