Open flame not required or desired. Heat gun, usually only burn some skin somewhere.

Mmmmm, might be cursing after all.

First post updated with additional parts needed.

Got the rotor and caliper mounted without too much fuss. Dropped the spacers and mixed them up; thankfully the manual says "thick one on the left side", so I worked that out. Gonna need new caliper bolts, as the Brembo doesn't need the longer bolt up top.

Gotta remember that the front axle won't seat on these inverted forks when the front tire's off the ground. I fought with the thing for nearly an hour until I remembered that little tidbit.

No issue with the rotor bolts either. There's something to be said for using the proper torque spec.

When it's time to bleed them, add a tube to the bleeder with a catch can, sit down with a drink and let gravity do it.

Russ, Double check on the bore size for the master cylinder. 11/16 is used for dual calipers and 9/16 for single calipers. The smaller master will give you more line pressure for the single caliper. I might be wrong for the brembo but that is how all the non brembo bikes are set up.

I hate it when things go so smoothly. I always feel like it's a set up for something like cross-threading the last bolt

My thinking is that the stock brakes are 2-piston and the Brembo is 4-piston. Same number of pistons are being moved, just in a single caliper. So there's a need for slightly larger fluid volume, which the 11/16" M/C will provide, with a slight loss of pressure.

Internet consensus on swapping the master cylinder seems to be nearly evenly split. And since I have no problem being a guinea pig in this experiment....
