An old Knucklehead and an old Panhead here..
Thought y'all might enjoy these two old pieces of iron. The owner of the local dealer restored these.
He and I rode together, years ago. He took a job as the service manager of the local dealer in the late 70's. When the owners sold out, he and his brother bought them and put the dealership in a storefront, in the early 80's. The posters on the wall are pictures of his dad and mom on their old Harleys. His dad's name was Buck and mom's name was Minnie. The store is called Buckminns, in their honor. H-D took off, and now they have a nice dealership out by the highway. He loves the old iron and recently completed the restoration of this 1947 knucklehead. The panhead is a 1948 model. Took these pictures today, thought that Highmiles might be interested. Notice the attractive model in the red shirt. 1948 panhead. |

I have a t-shirt from there, orange, not flames or skulls. I wonder who gave that too me?
Thanks David Joe, I still have and wear the shirt periodically. Sweet lookin antiques, both look like they need to be ridden though.

The restoration work on that red-shirted mannequin must have taken some time. It is quite dapper looking.
