Isn't it usually the rear cylinder that is supposed to take the worst beating because it doesn't get as much air flow?

The pistons are a softer metal than the cylinders....if a piece of carbon got in there, the piston would take the worst beating.

Usually, that's the case. I have an air scoop on the primary side of the motor to direct more air on the rear cylinder.

I'm gettin' closer!!

Well, the motor's all buttoned up, and she sure runs sweet!! I've got the new carb set fairly well, but I'll fine tune it when I get out to ride. The tour pack is mounted, and everything's painted. I hope to post pictures of the finished bike next weekend.
