I think if we do inner bearings we're going to have something else, replacing the inner bearings takes some special tool or something Kyp said he doesn't have. I'll look into it.

While it's open that far get the funds somehow and do it up right. I know I should have the first time around on my '06 bagger. Or you can spend almost the same as now going back in there. BTDT not easy on the wallet.

You want the B-148 needle bearings for the inner. IIRC S&S doesn't sell anything but.

Yeah, Joe might have led us down the path on that one.

hhmmm I must not be looking for something right.
Andrews kit is #288902 for hydraulic conversion but I cant find anyone selling that part number. If I get all parts listed on andrews parts list in the instruction sheet, do I still need the kit. damn confusing and frustrating myself. can't purchase directly from andrews can you, have to use one of their dealers? googled 288902 and only come up with lots of people talking about doing the conversion on this and other forums, but nobody selling the kit.

Sorry I got a little ADD there for a moment and started thinking about maybe I should do the andrews hydraulic conversion but it's not in my budget really, I can't spend that much now.
Didn't there used to be a guy online that would rent you specialty tools ship them to you, then when done you ship then back to get your deposit back? I'm thinking were going to need to do that out I'm going to have buy a tool for replacing the inner cam bearings. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2

And you want Torrington B-148s as Mega posted. Timken would be to upgrade the left crank bearing. Sent from my DROID RAZR

anybody have opinion on Jims lifters? $162 cheaper than S&S. That's pretty sizable difference. I think I recall hearing some good opinions on them years ago when I was reading more about doing stuff like this and planning on doing it back then. Last few years, I haven't kept up with it, and I guess forgot all I had learned.
------------------------- never mind, that was price for each on the Jim's

No clue on the Jim's. The Woods ones seem to be popular though.

It's a torrington type bearing, Timken bearing owns Torrington and produces them under their own name. Several companies make the B148 bearing but the actual Timken is or was last I heard still US made.

Run far and fast from Jim's. Their lifters are what HD was putting in the SE120" engines and the list of failures at under 10k miles is huge. Jim's warranty is for shit also if you do have problems.
Here's a little light reading on Jim's lifter failures Horror story Gaterman products is producing a nice lifter for a reasonable price. Dewey's Heads is selling them among others.
