old school brakes
the pads on my 77 shovel are riveted on. getting them off is not a problem. However, what would be the best way to reattach them? The pads come with tiny rivets. Is there a special tool or could i just use a rounded off punch and gently tap them down?

They have what you need. Look down the page under brake lining and general use. Highmiles

I have used a blunt tipped punch with no problems.
Just don't get carried away hammering on it and crack the pad but make sure the pad is secured tightly to the shoe. |
