Thanks for the details. I like that look about as well as anything I have seen for the bags.

All of you may have already seen this, but it's a nice (and CHEAP) option for covering the black plastic "hockey puck" caps, saddle bag openers on police bikes.

Cut off the top of a used chrome oil filter with a dremel or something similar. Wrap a couple wraps of electrical tape around the cap to make it fit more snug and glue the chrome piece over the cap with a good epoxy glue. If you want to dress it up a bit more, use a couple of the stick-on gas cap emblems over the. Philip did this to his Police RK and it looked real good.

Another thing he did that turned out well, was to get some "Road King" script pieces like those found on the front fender of a RK and had them mounted on a piece of chromed sheet metal, cut to fit in the space where "POLICE" would be found on the saddle bags. Looked really sharp!

Yeah, I got some Electra Glide fender script thingies a while back and was thinking of doing something similar, although I was gonna use some black painted small square tubing stock and mount the script to the bag that way.

Sorta thinkin' it'd give the script sort of a 3-D effect.

Ain't really got much past the ponderin' part, tho.
