Yeah,...and don't forget the gasket remover...not that we'll need it for gaskets.

Great thread, beautiful hands, Tom.... and the narration was right down homey...
I learned something from LittleBear that applies to this thread. In order to get the pushrods both at their lowest point on the cam lobes prior to adjustment you need to be in Compression Stroke. A surefire way to get there is to stick a clothespin (helps to see movement) on the intake pushrod (a rubber band and a paper clip will hold the pushrod tube up and out of the way) and roll the rear tire (like your going forward) until the intake pushrod is at its lowest point. Once it is, continue rolling the tire until the piston comes to the top. Once it is at the top, both pushrods will be at their lowest point on the cam lobes and both pushrods can be adjusted at the same time. After waiting for the lifters to bleed down, repeat for the rear cylinder. I'm not sure how this applies to a colonoscopy... |

adjustment
I am pretty sure it was the timing. We did the lifters and pushrods on Fri. then on Sat. I adjusted again because I didnt have anything else to do and I did confirm TDC per the manual. It still wasnt right so then on Sun. I did the crank sprocket and cam timing again and all is well. If anyone needs the instructions for the adjustable pushrods let me know and I will scan them or copy them and email them to you. I better go now. I should give my hands a rest before the next hand model job.

What's the advantage of the tapered pushrods?

They don't hit the sides of the pushrod tubes... eliminating some noise... and they are pointier...

They would follow the theme of the Rhino, then.

Not being able to actually see something cosmetic has never been an issue with you before...powder coated transmission exhaust bracket, comes to mind.
