Red Wings here, pull-on.
Whatever you buy, just make sure they've got a rubber sole.

Ooooo...that foot looks like it hurts! Not to generalize, but he looks like one of those "poppin wheelies at 80 while standing on the back seat on the freeway lane splittin jackasses" that seem to be so prevalent these days.

Just sayin'....

Have a pair of the HD lace/side zip boots I got a couple of years ago at "25% Off" sale and they still gave me my HOG discount on top of that. Light weight and very comfortable but yah, they do leak in the rain, so I just pull on a pair of boot gaiters.

The right boot is tighter than the left and ends up causing me great pain by the end of the day. I was told to get them wet and walk them dry to cure that, I just haven't yet.

Interesting, goin to try that with my HDs

I have 4 pair that I wear. 2 brown cowboy styled with rubber soles. They work ok for the softail but don't feel grippy enough for the bagger.

I'll wear one of 2 pair of Red Wing pull on's when on the bagger. The soles are thicker for increased reach and less prone to rolling around on small stones or gravel.

I work in a machine shop and sometimes wear the boots in, so the ropers may grip better for you than me.

Steel toe Chippewa Loggers here (tie up)...they are lined and VERY comfy, as you would suspect they can be worn/walked in all day. They also come with a certificate for total reconditioning of sole/heel/upper or any combination thereof at a VERY reasonable price. I buy em new for about $120 and get 1 or 2 retreads out of em! They outlast every other boot I've ever owned 2 to 1 including Red Wings!!! I have a pair of gaiters for rainy weather. (they also come in waterproof)

I have worn the same iron age steel toes for years...resoled etc...but on a trip in the rain....well they were like wearing full buckets of water...usually I snow seal before riding on a trip and I forgot that time....on the route ...freezen my arse off...I stopped at wally world and picked up a pair of Wolverines...water proof, thinsulate really light weight and they only cost $35...what a life saver ...warm...waterproof and really light weight...they are black leather and mesh with speed laces....and per Scabby...I tried them in the tub to see if they leaked....and wah lah...they kept the toes bone dry...

I have a pair of timberland steel toed work boots that I wear normally. If it gets cold or I expect it to rain (unprepared for today), I have a pair of HD wet weather boots similar to Matterhorns. Zip up the side, lace in the front. Only time water gets inside is if it happens to pour in from the top (like I forget to put my chaps on or something....)
