I've been scarce, and I apologize for that. I've been crushingly busy with work, tied up with a daughter that's kicking major ass in school, a rapidly deteriorating dog, and then....

My dad took a fall on September 9th on his screened-in porch and was discovered by his neighbor on September 11th. Nearly 3 days out in the Florida heat did a number on him. He's got a host of health issues - both preexisting and from the fall - and it's complicated by dementia.

Tonight he went into hospice care, and I'll be headed down there Saturday to say my goodbyes. Dad and I had a......complicated relationship over the last 5 years, but he's my dad.

I'd appreciate any positive thoughts y'all could send. It's been a trying couple of months.
