After giving this more thought last night, the week of June 9 through 14 would be my preferred dates

so I would be there for that, then I would hang out or just right around for 3 or 4 days, and then head to Michigan and meet Jan at her mom's house the next week

Good route, right up to the point where it goes onto I-81.

There are alternatives that can get us there without riding on I-81.

I'm familiar with their smaller location on the east side of the Blue Ridge, and haven't been there in a while as Sleeveless wasn't that impressed with the food selection. Will have to venture over there and sample the goods.

There is also Three Notched Brewery Tap House in Harrisonburg.
My preference is the Jacks Java Expresso Stout.

I was looking more to (one of the) the grey route of 33 & 39, the blue highlighted one is just the first "advised" one they throw out there

33 and 39 are good roads, as are just about everything else in that area.

Good thing to remember, most East/West roads are over ridgelines, where North/South are mostly in the valleys.

Ok, so I called Janel at Smokehole cabins. She has a block of 12 honeymoon cabins held for June 23-28th, 2019.
It is $600 for the 5 nights or $149 a night if you aren't there the whole 5 nights.
Tell them you are with the doofs and we need 8 booked by April 15th.

No. This is not an officially sanctioned gathering. Doofapalooza has an actual meaning and as such this is not one. This falls under the same category as other informal gatherings such as Pony Tacos, Doof’s do Manhattan, Tony Luke’s, etc. It replaces Chambersburg this year.
