Which 4 point docking Hardware kit?

I'm a little confused. Which doesn't take much sometimes.

I'm in the process of doing a detachable tour-pak setup on my '09 Ultra Classic. I've already got the wire harness modified where I can unplug it from the tour-pak. My question about which docking hardware kit I should be using is what has me a bit Doofed, for lack of a better word. I bought 54205-09 Four Point Detachable Docking Hardware Kit. Someone told me that it is not the correct docking hardware and the correct parts I need are the docking hardware parts in Detachable Tour-Pak Kit 53246-09A. The main brackets appear to be the same. The only difference I see is how the docking point mounts on the back.

Have I totally confused everybody as much as I am.

There are 2 sets. one is for things that are forward, like a solo seat rack. That takes 4 points. There is the 4 point rear set, that is for the rack behind the passenger. The racks do not interchange. Some old racks mount with 2 of the forward set and 2 of the rear set, so you would need both sets.

Over the years, they have been sold in many different ways, they are still the same mounts. I am pretty sure that the mounts for the later model baggers will work with the older mounts, but may not interchange with earlier baggers.

I'm only mounting a detachable tour-pak bracket to the bottom of the tour-pak and want to be able take it off and put it back on when I want to with the docking hardware.

I have the correct kit from an '08. It's used, and it's for sale. Any reasonable offer.

I've looked at doing this, but I've balked because the price is exorbitant for all the various parts, and even though the bike would look great without the tour pack, it's just so damn convenient.

Yup. That big, fat rear tire means that the older kits won't work. And like I said, I love having the tour pack there to hold my lunch, my helmet, or whatever else.

It's on the list, but it's waaaaaaaaaaay down it.

....and it's an opportunity to either drop the pack, or scratch the fender.

Y2k king, are you in here? Do you happen to know the part number of the 4 point docking hardware kit you used? If not, will you take a picture of the 4 point docking hardware as it is mounted on your scoot, outside view as well as inside view of the main bracket? The picture I have, I can get a close enough view without it getting blurred.
