I've had no trouble with that. The only leak I've had is base gasket seepage. Not bad, but it's irritating because I warm it up and ride easy for the first few miles.

The mid pegs were too close even to use as a position change on road trips. A new modification is an FL crash bar, with forward pegs. The mid pegs have been moved forward and down, to ease my knees. The brake pedal has been moved, so I can still heel it from the forward peg, or toe it from the mid. It worked out that the mid and forward pegs are close enough that I can bridge across them with my size 12s, above the shifter and brake.

I'm OK on the peg position, but I had to move the brake pedal and shifter down or my ankles were all scrunched up.

I'd love to be able to sit over my feet. It seems like it would help balance and control. And maybe allow a straighter posture. That was part of the reason for moving my pegs around. My legs are long enough and my knees bad enough that I can't.

I can imagine how your scrunched ankles feel.

Lovin' this! Y'all educate me on the FXRs. There's an FXRT at a local shop here (w/ Alaska plates).

The chrome swing arm... what version has it?

Chrome swingarm? If it doesn't make it go faster or handle better, it doesn't belong on an FXR.
