Too much thought and analysis,

If you are filling the glass, then it is half full during filling.

If you are empying the glass eg guzzling it down your throat, then the glass if half empty.

EG, where was the man when he fell off the bridge? Not on the bridge, or off the bridge, he was "In the act of falling" now stop asking me all these questions even if I do enjoy keeping you informed and on the right track.
