2012 FLHTCUSE7 Initial Thoughts

Every time I think I'm out, I get pulled right back in......


This bike is freaking decadent. Power locks? Lights in the Tour Pak and bags? Garage door opener? XM? GPS? Heated seat? Passenger lumbar support? Check, check, check, check, check, and check. But it still has those butt-ugly hinges which are a crime against humanity.

And while we're at it, the air shocks are a cruel joke.

The increased power over the 103 is noticeable, though the stock tune is pathetic. Typical Harley detonation at aggressive throttle tip-in, mushy TBW progressivity, and balls-sticking-to-the-leg heat. New head pipe and Powervision are en route.

Short rides only so far, but I like the seat. The bars aren't begging to be swapped yet.

Oh yeah, and it's drop-dead gorgeous.

Need to see if my old RBT module will work on it. Already put the old LED brake light on, and I really need to find some shorty antennas.

Will you use the CB? If not, get the HD hidden antenna for inside the fairing and loose those suckers.

Let the mods begin.

Russ, I tuned mine with the TTS...heat is now a non-issue. I have V&H True Duals and V&H Monster Rounds on mine also. Sounds nice.

The TTS is probably the better tuner based on sampling rate alone. The PV is far more user-friendly though, and I've gotten better service from and have a better relationship with Jamie Long than I do with Steve Cole.

I had to do it. It would have been a mistake to jump right back onto a Harley Tourer. I needed to wander in the desert, lo those 40 days and 40 nights.

Not only am I a better rider for it, but it was what I needed to do to get back on a bike.
