Yah, the ones that have the signs that are around the bend, behind the hill where you can't see them until you're under water. You know, the ones that tell you how high the water is at the crossing.

Low water crossings are amazing, quite possibly the greatest invention since sliced bread.

"Low" water crossings came about when the county paved the dirt tracks and didn't have funds for culvert pipes.


That probably happened in the fifties...


I remember visiting relatives in Oklahoma in the seventies and many of the county roads were still packed dirt / gravel / oiled roads.
