Always Something!
Went to get the bike prepared for hibernation today. I haven't been riding much in a while but the battery tender has been connected. Went to fire her up and wouldn't start. Wound up but didn't fire. Sounded like a weak battery. One more try and then, nothing, nothing went on went I turn knob to ignition. Took thinks apart and found one fuse blown. Replaced it, checked wiring to the battery. Now turns on but the turn signal lights flash fast right then left, back and forth, then off. Took a look at the battery and saw this. It's an HD battery and new last spring. Never seen a meltdown like this. Thoughts?

Loose connection, causes heat build up, which causes some resistance, which causes heat build up and so on.
Gets hot enough to melt the lead in the cable terminal post on the battery. Couple of guys here this past fall, in the morning one of their bikes wouldn't start, if you held the cable end onto the terminal it would. Drilled shallow hole on top of post terminal large enough to start a #10 sheet metal hex head screw into, that held cable in place until he got back home for a replacement battery.
