I'm not there yet...
Only clocked 570 miles, HD GPS, humm?, at one time in the fifties there may have been a Sunoco gas station near the farmland, but now nothing but tract homes. Did locate one in some little town, found out that "yield" is an old native word, for follow the guy in front of you in the round about, don't let anyone else in... Then there was the motel exit / turn dance... In Topeka tonight. Got off at a rest stop just in time for the first reenactment of the downpour that led up to needing an ark, got to try out my rain suit, which shortly turned into a sweat suit about a mile down the road. Then today's GPS misadventures led me on a second jaunt, on US 40 paralleling I 70. But more like meandering. Checked the settings and are set for fastest route. But at the start of this evening's downpour, and checking if the wind could get almost up to tornado speeds, it sure wasn't the fastest.

Were home safe and sound stopped at the school and checked the bikes for the weekend class. Thanks all for the good luck wishes for surgury tomorrow.

Had a good time. Looking forward to next time anywhere. Didn't rain on the way home but it was hot. AND THE TRAFFIC ON I-95 WAS HORRIBLE.
It couldn't all be people travelling south for the eclipse because there was just as much traffic going north. And I-85 is single line for about 50 miles. I did many illegal miles on the right or left shoulder. Just could not stay in line. The 6 hour ride was really 7.5 hours. Got home and made the wife a steak dinner.
