A New Seat--mmmmmmmmm--Good

My son came down this weekend bearing gifts. He loves me...............

He bought me a new seat from Ultimate Seats, complete with adjustable backrest. The stock seat has been bothering my once rather bodacious bottom and he said this one has good reviews. He ordered it 5 days before he came down and it was here and installed before he arrived.

First, I know seats are a completely personal choice, both for comfort and looks, but after riding this weekend I can say this is going to be a very comfortable saddle for me to be sitting in. I also like it's looks very much. It is filled with memory foam, and they say to give it at least 100 miles before judging. So I did.

At first it felt odd because it is a different style and the pressure points were different. As the miles went by it became more comfortable and the pressure points began to disappear. After 200+ miles it is now much more comfortable than the stock seat ever was and it should get even better. It didn't change my riding position at all for both height and distance from the bars after I rode some. At first I was a bit higher but it slowly conformed to my behind and I am exactly where I used to be. I no longer walk like I just loaded my diapers after a good ride.

The only trouble I did have was adjusting the backrest. I have never had one before and it took a bit of fussing to get it where I wanted it, but it sure helps my back stay comfortable and not tense up after a while.

I thought I would pass this along in case anyone else out there is looking for a new seat and needs some input.

My son also bought an Ultimate seat for his V-Rod, about 4 months ago, and he loves his. The stock seat on a V-Rod should be burned immediately after purchasing the bike, according to him, and the new seat fits him perfectly and is very comfortable.

I really like that seat and the backrest! And they look great!

By the way, I really like that trunk bag, too. In fact, I have one just like it. Saddlemen?

Looks like it works even better on your bike. My passenger backrest keeps the lid from opening all the way, but that's no big deal. The only thing I didn't like was the Velcro on the sides of the lid. I put tape over the Velcro, and I like it much better now.

Yes, the backrest folds forward out of the way so it works ok. I am reaching for my tape as I type this. Didn't take long to figure out that was going to be a pain. Thanks.........

Ok, I have to give N00dles credit for that idea.

I did put the tape on myself though.
