Technology is creeping up on me.

Tailgunner has one. I have one that I got for Christmas last year and now I find I even have one on my phone.

Today I looked at my analog in the tourpack. Folded it up neatly and put it away too.

Seems like the 550 was pretty expensive to just walk away from it, 150 to do a full refurb doesn't seem so bad???

150 to refurb it with a 90 day warranty. I seriously considered that, and I may still do that to re-sell it. Fact of the matter is that I'm dependent on GPS, even when it's turned off. I wasn't kidding earlier when I made the comment about travel anxiety. I was ready to throw money at any store that could sell me a GPS on the Tony Paco's run.

I'm not exactly agoraphobic, but I really need to know where I am and where I'm going, even when I'm going nowhere. Otherwise I can't leave the house.

Yeah, the screen on the droid is small and the same sunlight issues, however, unless your in the mountains and they block the sattelite, I've never had a problem with GPS signal loss.

I don't usually use routes however. Just check my bearing once in a while and decide which way I want to head.

It's going to take a much better deal than that to make me scream for a GPS.
