My company has offered a "voluntary separation" with a generous package. Not just to me, they offered it to almost everyone in my business unit.
Basically, paying me a whole lot of money to leave and never come back. I heard they were hoping to achieve a 25% reduction in force. I think they are going to be surprised that the number who apply for it will be MUCH higher. My entire department (grunts, leads, managers, directors) is taking the bait. So far I am still covered by the CHP retired medical, just got the medicare card in September, so now my CHP retired med plan covers what medicare doesn't.
Our medical insurance system is totally screwed up and I can't believe how many think they got a great deal. When you try to tell them thy could have bought "Catastrophic coverage" before they were now forced to buy into some plan. Talk about rabid foaming and spitting, I just SMH and shut the Eff up...
