I just couldn't pass up the deal....a gamble that happily paid off.

I think that she will become my "bar hopper/solo machine". With the 96" engine, it's on par with the newer machines in performance, but it REALLY needs a 6th gear to be a serious touring machine these days. It wasn't made to run 85+ all day like the new ones are. I'm not sure if I want to go to the expense of "updating" it to do it. It really is quit small next to a 14 and later Road King....hell it only weighs 664lbs wet.

Ruthie got spoiled by the 09 EGC that I had. It truly was light years ahead of this ol' girl in comfort and roominess, and I hear the 14 and later models are a step above that. When we retire, I will look for a stock, low mileage 103" TC and "upgrade" the weak points when adding some reliable performance to it. As we plan to do some M/C touring, and the 87 will be my toy.

WELL i LIED!

She's down again....this time for a top end. Just to noisy, and she's whisping a little smoke.

Should have done it when I did the reseal, tried to put this off till we moved but it needs to be done so that I don't need to buy new jugs too.
