Find a can of "Sea Foam" and mix it into the gas in the tank. That stuff cleans out the fuel system like brand new.

+1. That's a damn good idea, Woody. Cheap, super easy thing to do, esp with a carb bike.

Next time it does it crack the right gas cap open. If it stops the cap vent is restricted. Causes a vacuum in the tank at high speed runs. If that does not fix it and the sea foam does not work. Time to clean the carb jets.

I have a feeling that this is the issue. Did some reading and found out that it happens from overfilling your tank. I'm guilty of this. Will test it later this week once it warms back up.

Well, since I made the thread, it hasn't done it anymore. I did close to 200 miles this weekend and it ran fine.

Maybe it was bad gas after all.

Old gas. It'll do it every time.

It's like calling the doc when you are sick. By the time you get there you already feel better.

That's an easy and great repair. Post it and the magic of 43 causes it to fix itself. I'll try that the next time I'm having a problem with my bike.
