Or, pull the caliper and w pads in place insert a small scissor jack and very evenly press them in

I don't think I have ever pulled the wheel to replace brake pads.
Just pull the caliper and replace the pads.

You can remove front caliper(s) for easier pad replacement. Be careful not to scratch your fender, use masking tape to protect. The rear pads are easy, but you don't remove the caliper. You must have the 12 point 1/4" socket. (Buy two 12 pt. sockets - one 1/4" drive and one 3/8" drive) as the pad retainer pins can be tighter than...well very tight, and push like hell on the socket when loosening so it won't slip.

This is for the pad replacement.
