Greasing the steering apparatus

I'm doing the 10k service on the Streetglide. I find the grease fitting is well up under the fairing. Any ideas about getting the grease gun in there without removing the fairing? is there a 90 degree fitting I can use???

I'll get a pic here directly.

That's exactly what you do. Swap the fitting for a 90° and never look back.

I used to have a dedicated grease gun for the bike.

After this past summer, now all I have is a dedicated grease puddle on the garage floor

You could put good grease in it.

Just swap the fitting out for a 90, unless of course your extremely well organized or enjoy searching everywhere for the adaptor....

On my 05, the fitting was so close to the lower tree, that I couldn't get a 90 installed, so I had to settle for a 45.

I like Mega's option.

Noticed my 11' SG already had a 45 deg. from the factory. And it only took about 10 shots to show grease top and bottom.

An obvious assembly error.

That or during the "dealer prep" they failed to extract the correct amount.

It's made for Chrysler cars with the K frame front end, like a '86 Diplomat.

Works great on many other things where there is limited access.

Many places...

Try taking in a early 90's G van to the dealer for the oil and lube service and see how many grease fittings the young lube tech misses and never heard of, heck I think most of the new young ones never heard of grease fittings.
