In the standard RGB (red, green, blue) primary color system, black is actually the absence of color (therefore a "non color") while conversely, white is achieved with equal parts of the three primary colors.

I was under the impression white wasnt a color either, and I thought the primary colors were red, yellow and blue and mixing them made brown?

When it's spinning, it appears white.
