CCW discussion

I live in Phoenix Arizona.

We were talking here at work about CCW and open carry. When carrying concealed you must carry fully concealed. When carrying open it needs to be in plain view. The discussion is if I'm carrying concealed and say I reach up for something in a store and the pistol is exposed now I've violated my CCW and am I brandishing or is it now open carry? This is based on someone calling the cops because they spotted you with a gun. I wonder what the cops would do and how it would be handled.
I think your CCW would be safe and you would be told to be more careful.

Opinions.....

This is a site that I use if I have any questions about CCW. It has information that is specific to each state. Hope it helps.

I thought that might be the law in your state. We can do that in PA too. No legal issues with "exposure", but you may have individual issues with those that are exposed to such an atrocity. That's why I only conceal carry.

How did you manage to get a CCW in MD, Dave? I hear it's tough there.

Wish I could open carry sometimes. It would make quick access so much easier if needed. Like tomorrow when I'll be riding to my local bike group meeting. Unescorted white female on a bike in the middle of the "hood" does not make me feel too comfortable when the piece is not easily accessible.

I'm wondering if there is a way I can mount a holster to my frame somehow.

You heard right about MD. In order to get a CCW in MD you have to document that you have already been robbed...Several times I've heard. I don't know of anyone that has one there.

I just reciently moved a little north to Pittsburgh. I've had one in PA for 15 years or so. You go, fill out a one page form, give 'em a little money and they give you a five year permit.

It was a long time ago. I was working as a pipefitter at the power house in Mount Storm, WVA.

The AP, Diesel (our boy), and I lived in a trailer right on the lake. I think the place was called McHenry. Around 1971.

Yup, I'm on Rock Lodge Road in McHenry. A trailer on the lake now is worth about 600K. Even more if you get rid of the trailer.

There were several trailers on a slope down to the lake. A bar on the main road on the top of the hill.
