Looks great Baalz! Best looking Heritage I've seen.

I just installed 12.5 mini apes on my ride a few weeks back....I also went with braided cables. I see by the pictures that Baalz posted for us, that the throtle and idle cables adjustment nuts are exposed, same as mine were....I would have never even known that this was a problem until one of my friends pointed it out to me. they said a rubber sleeve would help keep the weather out of the cable and help keep it clean on the inside! I went back, took everything apart and covered the nuts with a rubber sleeve without really knowing if its absolutely nessesary....now, my question to you guys is, does this really matter? should Baalz also install the rubber sleeve over the adjuster nuts for protection?

(feels weird talking about Baalz, exposed nuts and rubber sleeves and such! )

I think my nuts and threads are stainless. Original ones showed rust even with the sleeve.

Looks like he has a sleeve on the clutch adjustment cable. I removed the rubber sleeves on my throttle cables a long time ago. If you do the scheduled service and lube them on a regular basis, internal corrosion is not an issue.
Baalz, nice color on your Heritage. Glad to see they brought back the Red from the early "90s. My "93 is almost the same color.

Last three Bikes I've owned have been red. My favorite is red with some gold flake in it.
For me its nothing like chrome, black and red contrasting.

Yes the Chromite II clutch cable came with a rubber sleeve already on it. I have thought about the chrome covers for the idle and the throttle cables but I don't want to junk things up to much with chrome.

On the one hand, the rubber sleeves keep some of the junk out, but on the other hand, they hold in whatever moisture gets past them.
Now, to make life easier when you're adjusting cables if you do have the rubber sleeves, a VERY thin film of dielectric grease makes them slide out of the way like a used rubber...

Keep the rubbers off. Like Mega said, it keeps the weather IN. Causes all kinds of rust and corrosion too.
