Welcome to dyna-land! That is a great-looking bike and the FXDX suspension is/was great. That + carb + timken, you got the best of the best. Love the color combo!

RE bags - a friend has the same model and runs HD bags. Over the years, they've sagged and he's not happy about that. I went with Boss Bags. They detach, lock and work well for me.

Boy howdy, those Boss bags are not cheap. They do look nice, though.

If something ever happened to my bags on my FLHR, I would look into pair of leather bags, not hard. Hard bags tend to look fake IMO.
