IBM Thinkpad
Alright all you computer type.I have a quandary.I have been using an IBM think pad to do my SERT fueling,well I got some unwanted help.My MIL sat her electric chair on it and the screen didn't like it one bit.Now the quandary
is do I fix it on the cheap or replace it .I have another computer to use .The ACER will work with some help.but I am real comfy with the think pad.

If you're just using it for the bike, you should be able to pick up a replacement on fleabay for less than $50

Did you press the blue button at startup?
Seriously, if it's just the screen, see if you can find a replacement screen on ebay. Typically they aren't that difficult to replace. Several small screws and a few tiny connectors usually are the extent of it. Just have to have patience and possibly a magnifying glass. You can test to see if it's just the screen or the whole laptop by hooking an external monitor up to it. It should have a VGA port somewhere on the edge of the computer. Good luck.

Why Me got it right...Flex cable hooks it to the motherboard...check ebay...how old is it?

Good news.I found a unit on C List and paid $50.00 for it ,the hard drive and battery are toast,the monitor and keyboard are good.I swapped the two and it works great so no I can finish my map.
