Replace lifters or not...
Some people say to replace lifters every 30k miles... others say only replace lifters when the cams are replaced.
Some say use stock Harley lifters, others say use AMS lifters (the original and less noisy twin cam lifters)... What say you? |

Doc recommends stock lifters. I have done no research, but will probably put them back in when time comes. I got 20k on GMR specials.
Do you have 30k on your lifters, are they the orginal? If so replace. They are relatively cheap, but it is easier to spend other peoples money. |

Get the stockers from Zanotti's. Less than 50 bucks shipped. Maybe a tad more for you in Calif. They're closer to me.
Stock, Stock, Stock!!!!!!!!!

I say whenever you are in there or 30k. They are cheap.
AMS, heard good things never used em. I tried the ones GMR uses from RevPerf which are really Comp Cams CS O-E "R" Series Lifters Part #875-1. Pulled em out and put back stock.

I went with Feuling lifters since I put a new cam in. If you was going to keep the same cam and you didn't have a noisy valve train I wouldn't worry about it. Did you upgrade the pressure relief spring in your cam plate?
