proximity key code

2008 sportster sat too long and battery ran out, prolly needs a new one. Charged it up with trickle battery tender. Lights and horns are just fine but it acts dead when the RF key is inserted and turned. Anti-theft lights start flashing. Do I have to get it to the dealer for new coding?

Try manually entering your code with the turn signal switches.

Owner's manual may be able to help you here.

Did you check the battery in the key fob?

Bought the bike used. No manual, only 1 RF gizmo but 2 keys. It is not a "keyless" bike.

You just need to reprogram the tssm to the fob after you reset alarm manually. Just went through this not to long ago.

On-off-on-off. Then some turn signal sequences while you wait for turn signal flashes etc until the fob syncs with the tssm.

I'll find it in the manual and post it up.

Thanx, guys, I didn't even know where to start on this. I googled Harley TSSM and a bunch of references came up. I'm gonna read everything before I start doing this. I'm not sure the key fob has a button.

My key fob doesn't have a button. It just needs to be close to the bike for the bike to start. I still say check the battery in the key fob if you haven't already.

I'm not sure about that. How many miles are on it? I think I'd go with the air first, then the battery and maybe wash it. Then if it makes noise maybe switch. Thoughts?
