Went to Ronnie's HD microfiche and here is the overflow bottle, has a pressure cap and then the recovery / overflow bottle thingy in the right lower.

I would think if the coolant was making into the cylinders you would smell it

Ok, I rode 150 or so miles and after a cool down (it’s supposed to be checked cold) it now looks like this. Looks the same as when they brought it back to me. Of course, it was in the 40’s when I left and the 50’s when I arrived. Probably not the best conditions to test coolant. 20190419_205747.jpg
Maybe I’ll go out on Monday and ride in some rush hour traffic to see if that has anything to do with it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

I think you will be okay now.
Their "kink in the hose" theory will have to do for now. The overflow bottle is designed to accept coolant that is too hot and has expanded. It is a two way hose that allows it to draw back into the coolant passages in the engine as it cools. If you place a check valve in the system it has to go somewhere and is vented onto the ground when the pressure, or volume, is too high. I would definitely keep an eye on it.

After riding home the coolant level remained unchanged.
Maybe there really was a kink in the hose. I'm not going to try to understand how that would cause it to lose coolant, but I'll call it good for now. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

The kink acted as a check valve and the fluid could only go in one direction. "Excess" was then vented out to the street.

At this point looks like it was just not serviced correct from the factory.

That's about where it should be when topped off cold.
