Ricky, Smart Dave, Anyone?
I can't seem to find anything on You Tube, certainly not my repair manual and ran out of things to try.
How do you remove and replace the speaker rocker switch under the handlebars to the left of the ignition switch? It seems to be the problem with my intermittent speaker operation. I just don't know how to get to it.

Remove the ignition switch knob, then remove the screw on each side of the switch console. You will need to read up on the proper way to remove the switch knob. On some bikes, it may be better to remove the tank console as well. Do NOT over tighten the nut on the ignition switch under the knob. It is easily broken and not typically stocked by deakers. I learned the hard way.
It may also require removing your outer fairing to disconnect the other end if the switch harness.

The ignition switch knob doesn't scare me. I've had it off a time or two for various reasons.
But the whole ignition switch assembly needs to come up and out to access the screws? I wish I had known this the day before yesterday when I had the fairing off. Oh well, good practice.

No, the whole switch doesn't need to come off, just the nut that hold the plastic cover piece to release the console from lifting up over the top of the switch.

On an 07 there were 2 screws on the outside of the switch cover. Pop the ignition switch out, remove the nut from the ignition switch, then remove those screws and pull up and out. You can then access the switch from the back side of the cover.
It's a pirates life for me

Good Pic!
Looks like the switch(s) are paired via harness...

Ooh. Ooh. Thanks guys.
Got it Mike. Nice picture, Dan. Where did you get it? By the way, # 22 bracket was broken and the volt gauge went in real easy.
