Odometer Trip meter issue

Sunday we were clicking down the highway when I noticed the Limited was overdue for an oil change. The dealer could get us in for an oil & filter change. This also includes a wash. They also activated my EITMS.

When stopping for gas, I went to reset the trip meter. The trigger button had no effect whatsoever. I assumed there was moisture in it from the wash. Throughout the day it never did begin to work. I parked it for the night, hoping it would dry and begin to function. No such luck.

Is there a way to reset anything that may help? I wouldn't think water would be the issue, since I'm assuming these bikes are designed to be ridden in the rain at times. I deactivated the EITMS, with no effect.

Am I out a switch, or can are there any other suggestions?

Odometer Trip meter issue

Try blowing some compressed air around it. Call the dealer and tell them it quit after they washed it. They might step up. I doubt it but worth a call.

Hope it dries out and decides to start working, just looked up the price of that switch assembly (Left switch pack) and list price is $215

Did you ask them to turn on (make active) the hot idle (EITMS) feature?

A hard boot of the computer by disconnecting the battery for five or ten minutes won't hurt anything.

Is the odometer still recording correctly?

Will holding the button in and turning the ignition switch on still allowing you access to the codes?

There's a master fuse on the Rushmore's so you don't have to disconnect the batt. to reboot but that's a good idea.

There have been issues with the left switch pack. Mine went out in the first month. The dealer might actually have some latitude to replace it for you.

Parts and labor, or they supplied the parts and you paid for the labor?

Unheard of!

They did replace it without them saying the front tire is showing signs of cupping and the muffler rubber hangers are getting hard and both should be replaced first to see if that fixes it?
