I hate I wasn't able to attend. It seems to make me a non-interested party for all future events. While I see the expediency, and honestly, the common sense of keeping it at ES, it does seem a little like a stacked deck. All those that attended and loved ES, please vote. Those who had hoped to attend at a different location, your opinion is not needed.
I really don't mean for this to sound like sour grapes, and I have heard the comments that you assume those that haven't attended won't attend in the future, but I don't think that is entirely realistic. Since I have nothing to offer other than my own intentions, it is probably a hollow sentiment. The irony of the situation, is that I think ES is probably the best and most practical solution. The part that bothers me with the vote, is that the end seldom justifies the means. Being exclusionary in the decision removes the closure the decision deserves. I have always felt that the members of this forum all shared a common purpose, and acknowledge all here as brothers and sisters. I would hope to believe that no one here would vote out of spite or meanness on such an important subject, and if there were some, it would be a meaningless and minuscule number. I would hope that as adults those who knew they had no intention of ever going would refrain from voting. I truly apologize if I am stepping any any toes, because that is not my intention, but I would be remiss if I avoided confronting what I sincerely believe to be the one stumbling block to an equitable and fair closure to the subject. At this point the division of eligibility seems to be, .................................well, ................................. an unnecessary division.

The location will never be terribly closer to anyone than ES is, and the ones who put forth the effort to attend will make the decision. As you may have seen in post 1, this poll will be conducted yearly, so those who attend each year will have the opportunity for input the following year.
