Henry PSA....
Tangs,
who wadda thunk they were so damn sensitive!! Tried to make my mares leg into something a tad more useful in the bush and made a Jam'O'Matic out of the poor thing. Every time the bolt coming back would catch the top of the hammer and lock everything up. I measured between stocks and there was a .1 difference with the new stock spreading the receiver tangs a wee bit causing the bolt to catch the top of the hammer. Some chisel and dremel work and all good, but even then - just the slightest out of parallel with the tangs on the stock and the rifle would jam. Looking at the stock now, I see that I will have to shape the entire front end properly so that the top tang resides properly but at least I know that I'm not crazy..... ier or something Now to reshape / refinish everything..... I'm not impressed how deep the top receiver tang needs to be in order to make this rig function and me trust it in Grizz country.. Dirk |

Strange there is such a difference between a Henry mares leg butt stock and a Henry full size butt stock.
(Some adjustments needed) As for grizz country, that is a 45-70 size, "brush gun", right? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

So . . . . . . you're manufacturing a "SBR"?

Somewhere along the line, Hollywood has bastardized "short barreled rifles", so they need close watching / licensing here in the states.
Kind of like after they did the movie where the character used a (I seem to recall) a Barrett semi auto .50 BMG rifle from inside a van to snipe people, shortly thereafter CA banned the purchase of the semi auto rifle version. Followed a few years later with banning the sale in state of the bolt action one. Because there was such an uptick of sniper killings in CA using .50 BMG rifles...
