Red dot sights

Here in New York gun laws make everything a pain in the a$$!
That aside I have a new rifle on order and curious what people use out there for red dot optics
Looking at the sig Saur Romeo4 but seems a little pricey.
This is for range only. 50 to 100 yards
Anyone use this one??

I've never considered red dot on a rifle. I've only ever seen one on an AR platform and figured it to only be good for warming an area up.
I'm more a proper bullet placement kinda guy

Agree. But here in NY, we are very limited on where and what we can shoot. UGH!!
Forget about the multi year wait just to see if I can get a pistol license ( another reason to get out!)

All we have is limited ranges. Im just trying to improve over using “old school “ iron sights I guess

Fire sights?

IIRC, Williams sight company DOT com

Don't know if they have anything for your firearm, but could check it?

Might want to take a look at Vortex.

They are good value and you can't beat the lifetime warranty

Thank you for the suggestions. I have to check them out. I have 2 month left before the rifle is built ( the waiting is killing me)

If you are buying a 2MOA Red Dot Sight here's a link to free targets. Zero in at 50 yards and you are good to go at 300. check

The one with the solar panel is very nice.
For $179 a Vortex Strikefire II is what I use. This going on an AR?

I have owned both of the Sig Romeo 5 and 4. The 5 really disappointed.
It's already found a new home.
The 4, on the other hand, is WOW. Highly recommend it based on the criteria you described as it's primary use.

I own 2 of the Romeo 4H. One on a AR and the other is on a Ruger MK IV .22lr I tricked out.

I’m really leaning towards the Romeo 4. I already have most of the money saved. Now I just need my rifle to be done already !!! This waiting is ‘almost’ as bad as waiting for my bike when it was in the shop

Keep you eyes on the big retailers for sales. I really like Optics Planet.
